Support Island Kids: Rebuild School for Constructive Play
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Carson Lancaster and I'm a resident of Holmes Beach on Anna Maria Island. As many know by now, our beautiful island was majorly impacted by Hurricane Helene, with virtually every ground-level home and building being inundated by 2-5 ft of gulf water and sewage. Unfortunately, our precious island preschool, School for Constructive Play, was one of the victims. Words cannot describe how special and IMPORTANT this school is to our community, our residents, and our YOUNGEST island locals. This is a place of safety, a home away from home and a family outside of family for so many of our island kids. Not only have many of these children lost a majority of their belongings at home, but they have now lost their fun place. The place where they learn, the place where they play, the place where they get to see their friends and enjoy each other.
I am making this GoFundMe on behalf of The School for Constructive Play. On top of restorations, they are going to be in need of new toys, new classroom items, new learning materials, new playground equipment—the list goes on. If you truly want to HELP island families, please consider donating to this wonderful school. The faster we can get the school put back together, the faster our island families can get their children back into their home away from home, where they then have the ability to do all the "adult" duties that need to be done in order to rebuild their lives. The faster we can get this school put back together, the faster our youngest island residents can have a small sense of normalcy and routine. This has been very stressful and hard on our kids and their emotional well-being is top priority. So whether you can spare $1.00 or $1,000—anything will help and will make a hugely positive impact for not only our kids, but the island itself.
Thank you. AMI STRONG!
