Hurricane Melissa Relief Effort – Supporting East Portland Recovery
Campaign Description:
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, communities across East Portland have suffered severe devastation. Many families have lost homes, livelihoods, and access to basic necessities. This relief effort aims to provide immediate and long-term support to help rebuild the lives of those affected.
Funds Management
All funds raised will be withdrawn by Zambo Buchanan and delivered via Western Union to Member of Parliament Isat Buchanan, who will distribute the funds in a timely manner to ensure swift and effective assistance.

The Farming community accross the 5 divisions that has lost 6000 hectares of Banana and Plantain a serious hit to food security for the island
Relief and Rebuilding Efforts
The primary goal is to support rebuilding efforts that provide:
• Essential food supplies for displaced families and vulnerable residents
• Building materials to repair and restore homes and community structures
• Assistance to farmers and small businesses who have lost crops, tools, and inventory due to the hurricane and subsequent delays from aid platforms and institutions that often act as gatekeepers to critical relief
Timeline & Distribution Plan
Disbursement of funds will begin as soon as possible to address the most urgent needs. The funds will be managed and distributed by Isat Buchanan, in partnership with local representatives and community leaders, to ensure accountability and transparency throughout the process.
Relief will roll out in phases:
1. Immediate relief – distribution of food, clean water, and emergency supplies.
2. Short-term recovery – providing construction materials for home repairs and community rebuilding.
3. Sustainable recovery – supporting farmers and small businesses to restore livelihoods and stabilize the local economy.
