Hi, I'm Isaiah (he/they), I’m a transmasculine dog trainer, rescue advocate, and community organizer based in San Diego.
For the past few years, I’ve been building my dog training business from the ground up while living with my dad to stay financially afloat. My work centers around helping misunderstood and often stigmatized dogs find behavioral balance and fulfillment in loving homes. Through my involvement in @TheBullyBreedBunch, I organize events, support rescues and shelters, and advocate for dogs who are too often overlooked.
This work is deeply personal to me. Just like the dogs I advocate for, trans folks like myself know what it feels like to fight to be seen, understood, and given a fair chance.
Alongside building my career, I’ve been navigating my own transition. I’ve already undergone a hysterectomy, which I am still in the process of paying off through Kaiser. Now, I am in the scheduling queue for top surgery—an essential step in my gender-affirming care and something I’ve worked incredibly hard to reach.
Unfortunately, the financial burden of surgery, recovery time, and existing medical debt is more than I can manage on my own—especially while continuing to grow a small business rooted in community care rather than high profit.
I’m asking for support to help cover the costs of my gender-affirming surgery and recovery. This surgery is not cosmetic—it is life-changing. It will allow me to move through the world more comfortably, confidently, and authentically, and continue showing up fully for the work and community I care so much about.
If you’re able to donate, share, or support in any way, it truly means the world to me. And if you’ve ever believed in second chances—whether for people or for dogs—you’re already part of why I do what I do.
Thank you for being here and for supporting my journey.
With gratitude,
Isaiah Sovia - AKA "Izzy"
(He/They)
