On Friday, January 23rd Isac Barragan had an accident at his family home that resulted in second and third-degree burns across his left forearm and wrist. Isac was treated at the Medical University of South Carolina’s burn unit surrounded by his family who supported him through every part of the process. After 5 nights, Isac was sent home to continue cleaning his wounds, practicing physical therapy exercises, and recovering to ensure this injury has minimal long-term impact on his mobility.

Amongst friends and teammates, Isac is known for his profound ability to overcome challenges, his creativity, and his ability to connect with others in a way that makes everyone feel seen and a part of the conversation. Isac is an incredible artist, excelling in projects as big as logo and merchandise design to quick doodles of his friends’ pets to brighten their day. His talent doesn’t stop at his artwork. At the non-profit he works for, Isac is an incredibly skilled educator who strives to connect with and inspire both English and Spanish speakers to protect the environment.

While he is a generational talent in art and interpretation, Isac’s best work is seen with his family as a devoted big brother and son. The role he plays in his family cannot be understated.
