Support Isabel's Abuelita's Medical Care

Hola a todxs. Hi everyone. My name is Isabel. My family has been dealing with a series of difficult circumstances recently.

I was fortunately able to visit my family in Mexico this summer. But the day after I returned home, my family and I received news that two of our relatives were killed. Later that week, my abuelita (grandmother) went to the hospital for severe dehydration and hypokalemia (low blood potassium). She has been in the hospital for a week and we do not know when she will be discharged. She must be under 24-hour care, and Mexico’s socialized healthcare system doesn’t cover that.

Since we cannot be there with her during what has been an emotional and overwhelming time for my entire family, we hired nurses. However, we are struggling to pay for this care. My abuelita is a very important person to me and my family as well as to many in her community.
