Here’s an update to this past month-
I want to start by saying thank you so much to everyone that donated and helped. You really saved us in August. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to all of y’all.
(October update) Hey y’all, it’s spooky season now! And boy oh boy, has it already been spooky. I lost my home officially on 10/9 and we had been couch surfing for the last little bit.
But things are looking up! Izzy and I were able to get in to a little place on 10/24. I have just enough to get in and get November paid up too, but it’s gonna be tight this first bit til I get settled properly. I have 3 storage units I am currently paying on, only one will be freed up cause the place I’m getting in to is quite small. I still have normal bills like car insurance, phone bill, gas, and power. Plus due to the government shutdown the little bit of assistance I get from the government will be put on hold until they sort their shit out, so that’s just another stressor on top of everything else.
If there is any way I could get a little bit of help just one last time to get over this last hurdle and get semi on my own two feet, I’d be insanely grateful. I am so close to getting there. I just need this last little push. Please as always take care of yourselves first. And If you can help, please consider it.
Thank you all for the continued love and support through all of this. If it weren’t for you folks, I don’t know if I could keep my head up or have the will power to keep trying.
(September) I have finally received the first child support payment last week 9/23. Far too late to do anything sadly.
Izzy and I went to evictions court today 10/2, and we were given 7 days to vacate. So we now have to be completely out of here by 10/9 at 11:59pm or it will be an automatic eviction on my rental record. Getting an eviction on my record will be essentially a renting death sentence as I won’t be able to rent again for at least ten years because places here rarely rent to folks with evictions on their records. It is an automatic denial. We will be in a shelter until something on a waitlist opens up. And the waitlists are years long.
I have already called to set up a storage unit to keep my things for the time being until I can figure something else out. I am going to start packing and calling and looking to see where I can stay temporarily. I am trying to work with as many community resources as I can to see if there is a way to make something work.
I hate to even ask again. Just know that I appreciate anything that y’all are willing to give if anything. Thank you for everything that has been given already and anything more that might be given now. You are all amazing and so supportive and I don’t know what I’d do without you. To be able to have a little bit of buffer and a way to potentially put a deposit down on a new place would be absolutely huge. But please make sure you are taking care of yourself before trying to help us. We will figure it out even if it’s hard.
(August) As most of you may know, I’m a single mom doing my best to take care of my sweet toothless potato and make ends meet. We are still waiting on child support to come through to start covering our living expenses and as I’m sure y'all know - life is damn expensive.
At the moment rent is late with an eviction notice, bills are late, and we won’t be seeing anything in regards to child support for several weeks still - if not another month depending on how quickly things get processed. All this isn’t even including the major dental issue I am currently dealing with and trying to get taken care of.
I hate that it’s even gotten to this point where I feel like crowdfunding is the way to go to stay afloat. It’s incredibly hard for me to admit I need help and even harder to ask for it.
I do, however, need to do what ever I can to keep a roof over my son’s head. This little dude deserves to have a stable and safe home. So here we are.
I do believe that we will be in a better position come next month when the child support payments start coming in. Unfortunately, right now we are in a tough spot and need to find a way to get caught up. I have no expectation of anyone to give anything at all, and to anyone that has the ability and does, I hope you will know it is so greatly appreciated and that there are no words that could ever express my gratitude and thanks.
Right now the big goal is to get the rent covered. The listed amount would take care of rent/late fees plus some. Anything after that is a huge blessing that would cover some of the more minor bills and things for Isaac as needed.
Again, I have zero expectations of anyone. It needs to be known that anything does help greatly and I appreciate every one of y’all for even reading this. You are all a blessing in my life and I’m beyond thankful to know all of you and have the love and support that is offered on a regular basis.
