Support Irma Garcia's Fight with Pancreatic Cancer

My mom, Irma Garcia, is an amazing mom, stepmom, Nana, wife, sister, and just an overall wonderful person. She loves unconditionally. She's always been a fighter.

Earlier this summer, she began to get sick, not feeling well, tired, unable to eat solid food, and then severe pain in her abdomen. We took her to Mercy Hospital where they diagnosed her with pancreatitis due to gallstones. We felt confident it was caused by Ozempic she had been on for her diabetes. Her gallbladder was removed, and we were hopeful as the pain subsided.

As time passed, she continued to get weaker, was unable to walk unassisted, and there was an overall decline in her health. Doctors ordered multiple CT scans, endoscopy, X-rays, MRI, and a pancreatic MRI. She was hospitalized again, this time at Doctors Hospital in Modesto. They discovered a large tumor in her pancreas and through biopsy found it was pancreatic cancer.

Through further testing, we found it had metastasized and there is a tumor in her liver, stage 4. Pancreatic cancer is incurable and at this late stage, there isn't much that can be done but to keep her comfortable and without pain as much as possible. She no longer can walk or do anything for herself. But she's surrounded by love at all times. We are completely heartbroken as doctors have said to enjoy the time we have left together, as it will not be very long.

Through the last 4 months, we have accumulated numerous medical bills and they continue to come. Some medications have high co-pays and the credit card bills are stacking up. We are asking for financial help to relieve this burden so we can concentrate on my mom and the moments she's awake and talking to us. We know there are more hospital visits coming and the medications continue to be prescribed.

All help received will go to cover her bills, medications, and various needs as she requires additional care. Anything remaining will go to her services. If you're able to help, please do. We appreciate anything that you can give.

We are trying to enjoy every moment we have with her. And we will have the best Christmas this year, as we know it's likely our last together.
