Support Iris's Journey to Recovery

This is a picture of our beautiful 13 year old daughter Iris on the first day of 7th grade this past year before the eating disorder started consuming her life. 7th grade has been such a year of turmoil for our Iris as we have been trying to piece together the puzzle of our daughter's severe mental health decline for months. Ironically, we are coming up on the one year anniversary of Iris's 10 day hospitalization that started with her first ever seizure then her appendix burst and she was not attended too for over 24 hours. She was not able to keep anything down the little she attempted to eat for those 10 days and it was a very traumatizing experience for her and our entire family. Now here we are a year later where an insidious eating disorder is preventing her from thriving and it came to a scary level of her barely surviving because it consumed every moment of her life. We also recently discovered that a severe amount of bullying from a very toxic "best friendship" was happening at school. We are praying and hopeful that her spirit, self esteem, and mind and body can be fully restored within the 40 days or so that she is in the program so she can be returned to her family, healed, whole and full of life again. We are blessed we found an amazing facility to care for her at healing at hidden river in New Jersey but our insurance is out of network with them so we have to pay a large sum out of our pockets. We also have been paying for weekly out of pocket therapy appts since last Oct and she will need to continue with it after she arrive home. This disorder has taken such a toll on our daughter and entire family in more ways than one and we appreciate any donation we can get so we can get our lovely, funny, kind, amazing daughter back at home with us.
