Hi, my name is Iris Kymm.

I’m an independent pop singer-songwriter based in Seattle and the frontwoman of my 8-piece band, Iris Kymm Band. I started this journey eight years ago, and thanks to the support of so many people, I have been able to survive and grow as a full-time musician.

I am taking the biggest step of my career so far: creating my first full-length album with my band.

For this project, my band and I are taking a new creative direction by recording all the songs with fully live instrumentation. It will feature nine songs (possibly more if I can push for it). Some tracks will be completely new, while others will be reimagined versions of your favorite songs of mine.

Most of my releases have been made through collaborations with session players and producers I love and deeply respect. That process is still a huge part of who I am as an artist. But for this album, the songs naturally started to lean toward a live band energy, and I realized they would shine the most when played by the musicians I frequently perform with.

Recording a live band album means covering rehearsal time, studio sessions, engineering, mixing, and marketing. It is a big step for an independent artist like me, which is why I am launching this GoFundMe.
