Support Iris in Her Alzheimer's Journey

Hello friends of Iris,

I'm writing this on behalf of the Iris Collective, a group of family and friends both near and far who are helping Iris as she lives with Alzheimer's. Since she was diagnosed a year and a half ago, we have continued to learn and adapt to her illness and needs, while learning how to better care and support each other as well. We are so grateful for all of you who have supported her.

Right now, Iris continues to live in her home with part time care givers who are paid for both by Medicaid and donations. As time goes on, Iris gets lonelier being by herself. The Iris Collective is exploring longer term care options to address this, including group living or finding a permanent roommate\caregiver to stay with Iris. She is too young and active for any usual memory care facility. Vermont is a beautiful state, but it is not rich with viable options, nor are the laws written for her unique situation. In addition, we hope her situation will not be impacted by any future changes to Medicaid, but we are preparing just in case.

Right now, Iris and the collective could use your financial support as we continue to explore long term options, pay legal expenses, and keep providing care in her home. Thank you for your kind wishes, prayers, and support in every form. All of it helps.
