Hello everyone,

This is Irina, my mother-in-law — a loving wife, devoted mother, and truly incredible woman who raised five sons, including my husband Jason, with endless love, patience, and strength.

For years, Irina has quietly battled ongoing health challenges while continuing to put everyone else before herself. When my husband was fighting cancer, she stood beside our family with unwavering love and support through one of the most difficult times in our lives.

On May 1st, Irina was rushed to the hospital suffering from severe pain throughout her entire body. For several days, she had been experiencing nausea, vomiting, and intense stomach pain. At first, she believed it was related to her chronic illness — but this time was different.

By the time she arrived at the ER, she was drifting in and out of consciousness. Her body was beginning to shut down, the pain was unbearable, and she truly believed she would not survive the night.

About an hour after arriving at the ER, her condition became critical, and she was urgently transported by ambulance to a different hospital, which was better equipped to help her

and had a specialized surgeon who was available to operate.

Doctors discovered a perforated ulcer that caused a dangerous gastrointestinal duodenal perforation, leading to internal contamination and a life-threatening infection risk.

Irina was immediately taken into a five-hour emergency surgery to repair the perforation and perform a peritoneal lavage to remove contamination and help prevent severe infection.

Following surgery, Irina remained hospitalized for 10 days and required intensive postoperative care, including a nasogastric tube, multiple JP surgical drains, a wound VAC, a multi-lumen PICC line, and four concurrent IV infusions as she fought to recover.

Unfortunately, Irina does not have health insurance, and the cost of her emergency surgery, hospitalization, medications, specialists, and ongoing care has become overwhelming for our family.

This fundraiser was created to help ease that financial burden so Irina can focus on healing, and so my father-in-law can support her recovery without the added stress of working even longer hours than he already does.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference for our family during this difficult time. All contributions will go directly toward Irina’s surgery costs, hospital stay, medications, follow-up care, and essential household expenses due to lost income.
