After 5 months of medical issues , my sister Irene finally received the life saving transplant we've been praying for! After a successful surgery and a few weeks in the hospital she's finally been discharged. The road to recovery will be long. Due to the distance to the transplant center from our homes we have to stay in Weston for a month to receive follow up care while she continues to heal. I will be staying as her caregiver. She has been unable to work since March due to multiple hospitals stays and poor health. I am taking time off to be here to support her. While insurance will help with accomodations and travel , other expenses are starting to stack up. Food, meds, and other essential bills are adding up quick. We both also have families that require 2 incomes to survive due to the high cost of living. Our amazing husband are doing their best to hold down the home front.... So putting our pride aside we're reaching out for some support from our friends and family to get us thru this essential time of healing.
