Support Irene Sallas Rivera's Battle with Breast Cancer

Aloha everyone,

Our beloved Irene Sallas Rivera, the most beautiful, selfless, hardworking, kindhearted friend, has been diagnosed with Stage 3 (HER2+) Breast Cancer.

Irene is a 30-year-old mother of two beautiful sons, currently 4 years old, who would do anything in this world for them.

Curt, who is the father of Irene’s children, has taken both parental roles as well as caring for Irene, taking her to her appointments, and caring for her during treatments.

It's so unfortunate to see Irene and her family affected by this tragic news. Irene has so much life ahead of her and had plans and goals for the future for her and her family.

If anyone knows her, she’s always shined light on everyone she loves and always brought positivity to a family or friend.

Currently, Irene is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy (6 rounds total).

On April 22, she is scheduled for surgery to remove both breasts along with some lymph nodes that were affected by the cancer. Immunotherapy (targeted infusions) with radiation is also part of the plan for treatment.

Although Irene has a very long journey to recover, she remains positive and says she’s “leaving all of this in God’s hands.”

Since November 18, 2024, the doctor has placed her out on medical leave.

Unfortunately, the doctor mentioned recovery from surgery will be another 4-6 weeks, which doesn’t include immunotherapy and radiation time. Leave from work will be exhausted this month, plus Irene still needs to pay out-of-pocket expenses that include multiple scans (CT/MRI, etc.), medical prescriptions for treatment, visits for treatments, and still needs to manage personal family needs.
