Support Ireisa's Dialysis and Transplant Journey

Hi, it's Mildrey. Recently, my sister-in-law, Ireisa has been told she has to start dialysis due to very limited kidney function. She is going through the process of the procedures and appointments needed to set this up in March. She will have to miss work (without pay), as well as cover co-pays and some completely out-of-pocket expenses. Ireisa is a sister to me, another daughter to my parents, an amazing mother to my nephew, devoted partner, an incredible sister to her sisters and brothers, a favorite Titi, cousin, and friend to many. If you're lucky enough to know her or about her, then you know how special she is. If you don't, she is one of the most beautiful humans in life. She is loving, patient, kind, funny, and willing to give anyone the shirt off her back, or the last $1 in her pocket, literally; no questions asked.

We would like to come together as a family and community to help Ireisa, Jay, and Angelo navigate this upcoming challenging time. She is also working with doctors and nurses to get accepted onto the transplant waiting list, in the hopes she can find a match, and eventually undergo a kidney transplant. If and when she receives a new kidney, medications will be required to help her body accept the transplant. Her partner, Jay, is in the preliminary process of applying to be tested to see if he's a match. If he is, the household would have to juggle with 2 transplant surgeries, and a heavy financial burden would fall on my nephew, Angelo, to keep things going.

In the meantime, she's already in the thick of many appointments and testing to get the ball rolling.
