On Friday, October 25th, 2024, Investigator Sean Morrow of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division was seriously injured in the line of duty. Inv. Morrow was injured during a foot pursuit attempting to catch an armed murder suspect.
During the foot pursuit, Inv. Morrow broke his ankle in five places. Inv. Morrow was taken to the hospital where he was admitted. Inv. Morrow had surgery to install metal pins and rods on the outside of his leg to stabilize the injury. Inv. Morrow was released from the hospital on Sunday, October 27th, 2024, and sent home to allow the swelling to go down. Medical staff advised that Inv. Morrow will require at least one surgery to repair the broken bones after the swelling subsides. The next surgery is expected to occur in a month. After the surgery, Inv. Morrow will be unable to put any weight on the foot for approximately 2-3 months. Following that, Inv. Morrow will have to attend physical therapy to regain mobility in his ankle.
As many of you know, many deputies rely on special duty and overtime hours to pay their bills, and this is not covered by workmen’s compensation.
Inv. Morrow is a combat veteran serving his country overseas in Iraq.
Please consider donating at this time to assist the Morrow family and offset some of the expenses incurred.
