Support International MFA student Ayo’s mobility.
Donation protected
Ayo, an exceptionally talented artist, was accepted into a prestigious and highly competitive MFA program at Georgia State University, Atlanta in 2024, where I am currently Professor Emeritus. Originally from Nigeria, he arrived less than six months ago, bringing with him a deep commitment to art, education, and community engagement. Before relocating, he worked extensively with children with disabilities through Art Therapy, using creative expression as a tool for healing and empowerment.
Since joining our academic and artistic community, Ayo has become an invaluable presence, mentoring BFA students, assisting faculty, and generously offering his time and expertise to those around him. His contributions extend beyond the classroom, embodying the spirit of collaboration and shared learning that defines a thriving artistic environment.
However, as an international student, Ayo faces strict work restrictions, limiting his ability to earn income beyond the university. To support his studies and engagement with Atlanta’s broader arts scene, we are raising funds to provide him with a scooter bike. This essential mode of transportation will allow him to travel between his affordable housing and the university while also enabling him to participate in vital art programs and exhibitions across the city, opportunities that would otherwise be inaccessible due to limited public transit options.
This support is not just about mobility; it is about ensuring that Ayo can fully immerse himself in his studies, contribute meaningfully to the artistic community. His presence is already enriching, and we firmly believe that investing in his success will yield far-reaching benefits for both him and those he continues to mentor and inspire.
Ayo’s potential as an artist and educator is immense. Any contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in his journey. Thank you for being part of this effort to support a remarkable artist and scholar.
