Hi! My name is Krista and I am pursuing this GoFundMe for a place near and dear to my heart.
The InnGathering LLC needs help from the Piecemakers community.

The courts ordered the liquidation of the original Piecemakers business entity. The Piecemakers Country Store was sold at public auction as has all of Piecemakers' other business and personal property. The proceeds from those sales are all going to pay legal and court costs as well as to pay against the amount due from the judgment. A large portion of the judgment still remains outstanding and Piecemakers legal battles and related costs are expected to continue for years to come. They continue to do what they can to retain their personal homes and maintain all that they have left to support their business, their lives and their faith.

The InnGathering LLC was newly formed to carry on in the tradition of Piecemakers. The InnGatherings' business and activities are not only the livelihood of each and every one of its members, but reaches far beyond this vineyard that God has given them to take care of and nurture. It is a community of friends, a place you can come to learn, create, make new friends or join up with old ones for tea or coffee.

They have secured a new site for the InnGathering LLC store and are in the process of preparing the building for move in. A new start for a new entity carrying on their well-established and popular business.

For those who are not familiar with the history of Piecemakers, they began in 1978. Some women, who were bestowed a God-given talent to sew, would get together to eat, pray and sew. Beautiful custom quilts were being put together, just like in the early days of America when women would get together over a quilt and have community with each other. Piecemakers' founder, Marie Kolasinski, knew that this place would be a sanctuary, refuge, haven, retreat and more for the people.

Piecemakers has weathered through some good times and some not-so-good times. This is one of the latter. They have been defending a lawsuit ensuing for years and a judgment has been entered in an astronomical amount of $5 million that it cannot possibly satisfy. Years ago, Piecemakers took in a woman along with her baby. They housed them, clothed and fed them, provided childcare along with other needs, and even provided care before and after a serious medical issue. This woman was given an opportunity to be part of the Piecemakers family, and nothing was expected in return. She came and left Piecemakers four different times with years of absence in between, but always came back. After the last time she left, she filed a lawsuit against Piecemakers seeking compensation and other damages for the time she spent with them. Sadly, Piecemakers was ravaged by this litigation and the greed from that individual.
