We are Inkineers, a passionate and determined robotics team of high schoolers competing in FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC)—a global program with 7900+ teams that challenges students to design, build, and program robots to complete intricate tasks in an exciting game. We have been growing, innovating, and competing in FTC at the highest levels for three years and as we enter the 2024-2025 season, we need your support to continue our journey!
Our Story
The Inkineers, Team #21982, started as a middle school team in 2021 and since then through focus and perseverance, we have achieved incredible milestones:
- Won multiple regional events and 1st place awards, including the Control Award for our advanced autonomous programming and the Think Award for our innovative engineering process.
- Competed at the California State Championship, finishing as a Finalist Alliance in the 2022 Power Play season, and as a Winning Alliance in the 2023 Centerstage season.
- Qualified for the 2023-2024 FIRST World Championship, competing against 224 of the best teams worldwide and ranking 17th in the Ochoa Division!
Why We Need Your Help
As a self-funded community team, we constantly push the limits of innovation, working within our budget and available resources. Every dollar we raise helps us refine our robot, cover competition registration fees, and bring our creative ideas to life. Your support will help us prototype and turn our many exciting design concepts into reality—because every FAIL (First Attempt In Learning) is part of our journey.
Our Team Costs:
- Robot Parts & Materials – Design, build, and refine a competitive robot (+replacement parts).
- Competition Entry Fees – FTC registration, regional, and state events.
- Travel Costs – Attend competitions and outreach events.
- STEM Outreach & Mentorship – Promote STEM education and inspire the next generation of young engineers.

- $10-$50 – Helps us buy tools, wiring, and small components.
- $100-$250 – Supports robot sensors, motors, and essential electronics.
- $500+ – Covers competition fees or a major robot upgrade!
