During the recent Gen-Z–led protests in Nepal, one young student joined thousands of others demanding an end to corruption and opposing the proposed social media ban. Like so many of his generation, he only wanted a better future — one where voices are heard, not silenced.

But instead of being met with dialogue, he was met with violence. In the chaos, he was seriously injured, bleeding heavily while friends desperately tried to save him. His story represents the risk every young protester faces when they stand up for freedom.
