On June 24, 2026, three firefighters from Central Whidbey Island Fire & Rescue and South Whidbey Fire/EMS were injured while responding to a fire and home explosion in Greenbank. The incident was a stark reminder of the risks our first responders face every day to keep our community safe. Thankfully, all three firefighters have been released from the hospital and are now recovering at home with their families.
Since the incident, community members have reached out asking how they can help. This GoFundMe was created to provide direct support to the injured firefighters and their families as they recover. Donations will help cover medical expenses and any additional needs that arise during their healing process. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in their lives as they focus on getting back to full health.
Our firefighters show up for this community whenever they are needed, and we are so thankful for the kindness, care, and support being shown back to them. Any donation, message of encouragement, or share of this fundraiser means so much. Thank you for standing with our firefighters and their families during this time.
