My friend's family was faced with a parent's worst fear as a parent of an athlete on Oct 9th. During the FWB Vikings vs. Choctaw Indians game, their son Nathan #82 suffered injuries to his head, neck, and spinal cord after a helmet-to-helmet tackle.
He was going to be life-flighted to Pensacola Children's Trauma, but he lost consciousness on the field and was rushed to FWB Medical to be stabilized, then transported to Pensacola where he spent 6 days. He is now in a wheelchair with a neck brace for at least 6-8 weeks, but possibly longer.
His mother has had to stop working to stay home and take care of him while he recovers. Due to this, the family needs our support and help with *household bills, *food, *medical expenses, and *anything else they may need during this time. Their focus needs to be on the recovery of their son and not financial stress at the moment.
So if you're able to help with even a dollar, I know it would help them and be very much appreciated! This family is always helping anyone they can, so it's our turn to help them. Nathan, this community stands behind you with prayers, support, and love!! Get well soon so we can see you on the field next year!! #VAKA #82Strong #Nathan82 #VikingNation.
