Injured Officer Nathan Bettencourt

Officer Nathan Bettencourt was shot in the line of duty on March 6, 2018. Nathan and his fellow officers responded to a 911 call at a residence in Clinton, Missouri on the night of his shooting. As they attempted to search the house for occupants in danger, they were ambushed by a criminal with a semi-automatic rifle. Nathan was shot multiple times in his right upper arm and bicep. The bullet damaged Nathan's brachial artery and severed his ulnar nerve. The injury has proven to be severely debilitating both physically and emotionally. Nathan's road to recovery will be long and trying. The injury will result in a loss of income that Nathan and his family have come to depend upon.
Nathan has served his hometown, the City of Clinton for over 14 years. He has a passion for mentoring future law enforcement officers as he has been an instructor and teacher at the University of Central Missouri Police Academy for many years. Nathan's bravery and selflessness has been passed on to countless police candidates.
Nathan married his wife, Jess, on October 15, 2016 and he has two beautiful daughters, Ellie age 8 and Regan age 5. Nathan risks his life everyday to provide for his family and protect his community.
All funds donated to Nathan will be deposited into an account at Hawthorn Bank in Clinton, Missouri for Nathan's use and benefit.
