After Scott's tragic accident (he suffered a cardiac arrest which resulted in a severe anoxic brain injury) on August 16th, 2025, he spent 4 months in hospitals in 3 different states. On Dec. 5, he was medically transported home to live with Kathy and Barry.
Kathy and Barry have been with Scottie 24/7 since his arrival home. They are physically, emotionally, mentally, and financially exhausted.
They are exploring every resource they can find, but Scottie's condition is rare and there aren't many options available for in-home help or long-term facilities for his needs.
SO many people have asked what they can do to help—right now the biggest thing our family and friends can do is help pay for some in-home care so they can get some sleep and have some time to do normal things in life like grocery shop and go to appointments. Caring for Scott is a 24/7 job and Barry and Kathy cannot do it alone anymore.
In-home care is EXTREMELY expensive so if you find it in your heart that you want to help, we would be extremely grateful for your generosity.
