Ingrid Ayon came to the United States when she was just four months old and has called it home ever since. She is a resident in Cottonwood with her family and graduated from Mingus Union High School in 2020. Unfortunately, Ingrid became a victim of the July, 2025 Colt Grill raid and after being detained for two months, was deported to Mexico—a country she has never known, with no memories of living there. She has no criminal record or history of wrongdoing, yet now finds herself forced to start over in a place that is completely unfamiliar.
Since her deportation, Ingrid has faced immense challenges. She is struggling to adjust to life in Mexico. The sudden upheaval has taken a toll on her mental health and well-being. She needs counseling support to process this traumatic experience, legal advice to explore her options, and help with basic needs like internet, as she tries to build a new life. Ingrid also dreams of continuing her education, at the least starting with Spanish language classes as she is not fluent-English was her first language. Unfortunately the costs of college classes and daily living expenses are overwhelming. She is not yet able to find a job due to living in a small town that she feels is dangerous, and also due to the language barrier.
We are reaching out to ask for your support in giving Ingrid a chance at a brighter future. She is a resilient young woman with so much potential, and with a little help, she can begin to rebuild and pursue her dreams. Any contribution will make a meaningful difference in her life. Thank you for standing with Ingrid and helping her find hope and opportunity in this difficult time.
