Austin Broncos Basketball is an AAU training and development program I started in January of 2025 and is still in the beginning stages of start up.

My goal in starting this program is to share my love, passion, and knowledge of the game with young athletes who are eager to grow in a more welcoming and accessible environment. In my view, the AAU basketball scene in Austin is oversaturated and often operates like a good ol’ boys club, with inflated costs that put unnecessary strain on families. I want to change that. Our goal is to provide community, develop talent and provide opportunity at an affordable rate.

We also are leading with a concept here that is unique. As adults, we can go to our local fitness center and play pick up. Young athletes cannot. Pick up basketball is entirely dominated by adults, and there is not an organized way today for young hoopers to play among themselves freely.

Another reason this is a great opportunity, is that most of the players we’ve been attracting have never played organized basketball outside of their school. Some are just finding their passion for basketball. They are coming to us because we offer an affordable outlet, but also, when you’re late to the party with getting involved in AAU, it’s hard to get in and often too late. Most programs already have established teams and charging thousands of dollars, or $100/hour just for private training.

For four Saturdays starting April 19th, I will be organizing a 30 minute clinic followed by 1 hour scrimmaging. We will break it into two sessions, 4th/5th and 6th grade, then 7th and 8th.

An investment here is an investment in an entrepreneurial effort of small business and investment to young hoopers looking for a fun and organized outlet to play freely, and get involved in an affordable program.
