I truly believed Indi’s recovery would be straightforward—but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. I’m reaching out, humbly, to ask for help with his mounting veterinary expenses.
Indi has now been hospitalized for 10 days. While he is fighting hard and making progress, his recovery has been slowed by serious complications. After the initial trauma, infection set in due to extensive tissue damage from the attack, and we are now facing additional, urgent medical needs.
For those who know my dogs, Indi is not just any dog—he is a cornerstone of my breeding program. He is the sire of Dinero and Evans, grandfather to Pesto, Zen, Taz, Gucchi, Cash, and Rocky, and part of the lineage behind Wagyu and Rowen. His impact runs deep, and many of the dogs people love today trace back to him.
A few years ago, Indi was neutered and placed in what I believed was a safe, loving home. Sadly, while his family was away, an incident occurred under the care of a house sitter—their Great Dane attacked Indi. The veterinarian believes he was grabbed from above and violently shaken.
Even more heartbreaking, Indi went over 14 hours without medical care.
As soon as I was notified, I rushed him to the emergency vet, where he underwent surgery and was stabilized. For a few days, it looked like he was turning a corner. But then things took a turn—his antibiotics stopped being effective. Testing has since revealed a highly resistant bacterial infection. Now, part of his tissue is dying and must be surgically removed in order for him to heal.
I won’t overlook this fact—if I had known just how severe his injuries were, I may have made a different decision. But Indi has shown an incredible will to live. He is fighting every single day. He wants to come home. He deserves the chance to live out the rest of his life safe, comfortable, and loved.
I’ve attached the most recent veterinary report so you can see exactly what he’s facing and what comes next.
If you are in a position to help—no matter how small—it would mean more than I can express. Every dollar goes directly toward giving Indi the care he needs to survive and recover.
For his safety, Indi will not be returning to that home. The circumstances that led to this cannot be risked again.
Thank you for taking the time to read what is happening in Indi's life and for any support you can offer—whether that’s a donation, sharing his story, or simply keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. Again, every dollar will help.
You can donate to my paypal account or his to go-fund me. Of course paypal does not take a percentage so that is helpful . Either way, I will post a receipt for payment to the vet from added up donations, which will include where the payment came from.
