Support India and Hercules in Their Time of Need

Hi friends, I am at the lowest point I have ever been. My name is India, I live in Anaheim, and I lost my job in October of 2023. I have been rabidly applying for jobs in every single place I reasonably can and have had no luck. I have applied for around 500 jobs. I stopped counting as I got close to 500, so who really knows.

I thought I finally caught a break and was hired to a job. Not just any job, but one that fit all of my needs as a person with disabilities and no vehicle/driver’s license.

As you’ve likely guessed, it was a scam.

Because I was scammed, I’m now a couple thousand in the negative in my bank account. I have had just about nothing to live on for months, with the burden of my credit card and storage bills falling to my parents, some occasional help from family when they can, and living on the couch of truly wonderful found family. The only financial assistance I’ve been able to secure from the government is a small amount of food stamps each month, as EDD denied me back when I was fired for being fired and the case I opened with them has been buffering this whole time. I likely will not see a cent from them.

Hercules is my 8 year old cat son and I’m beyond thankful that he’s been able to come with me to our current temporary location, but it would be beyond heartbreak if I lost him because of my situation. I’ve had him since he was just a few weeks old. If my only remaining option ends up moving back upstate to my parent’s house, I’d have to give him away for renter and allergy reasons. I don’t know that I could handle the heartbreak and have been desperately trying to get hired to avoid it.

I know it’s hard everywhere and for everyone right now, but I’m this desperate.

I need to be able to bring my account out of the red and have something to live off of for him and myself until I can finally get hired somewhere. I know I’m asking for a lot and I’m so sorry. I know there’s a lot of people in a lot worse situations and they need help too. That being said, this is the worst time in my life. I’ve lost almost everything and I’m struggling every single day to keep going.
