I am working to organize independent media journalists who are covering the protests in and around Chicago.

Unfortunately, the situation for journalists covering these protests is not improving. They are being directly targeted with pepper balls, rubber bullets, and tear gas, even when clearly displaying media/press markings and credentials.

Most individuals who are risking their lives are working independently, without the backing of an agency or institution. They use their own equipment and jeopardize their health to report on the unfolding events.

I am in the process of establishing fundraising efforts with 501(c) status, but the situation is escalating daily.

I urgently require assistance to procure essential equipment to ensure our safety, including masks, goggles, helmets, and vests.
