Now we’re building the next chapter.

Hi, I’m Jim Carson.

I’m an independent electronic music producer, artist, and label owner, and I’ve spent years building independent music projects without major-label financing or corporate backing.

Recently, Dean P & Jim Carson’s “Halcyon” reached #1 on the Beatport Trance charts, giving our independent operation an incredible opportunity to keep building momentum.

Now I’m asking for your help to take that momentum into the next installment of our Trance Utopia Sessions series:

Trance Utopia Sessions, Volume 3

This is an ambitious independent compilation featuring 18 tracks spanning euphoric trance, melodic trance, hard techno, psy-trance, acid techno, progressive house, pop/dance and electronic music inspired by the golden era of dance music through today.

The project will also feature an exclusive extended DJ mix featuring the best of the tracks from the compilation only available through this crowdfunding campaign which makes it very special and unique. We will not make the DJ mix available for streaming platforms or DJ download sites. Only for our supporters here. It will be an exclusive reward for supporters of this campaign.

To Cover Entire Debt and Costs: $22,222.99

The music is being created independently, but we use studio quality gear and putting a professional release together requires real production costs - from mixing engineering, mastering engineering, artwork, technology infrastructure costs, marketing, and promotions just to name a few categories.

Here’s exactly where the campaign funds are intended to go:

Music & Release Production — $5,333.99

Production — $1,000

Finishing the music, production sessions, editing, and final preparation.

Mixing — $1,000

Professional mixing to make sure the music translates properly across headphones, home systems, clubs, DJ systems, and streaming platforms.

Mastering — $1,000

Professional mastering to bring the finished recordings to commercial release standards.

Artwork — $500

Professional album artwork and visual assets for the release.

Distribution — $500

Digital distribution and release administration.

Marketing & Promotion — $1,000

Advertising, promotional materials, campaign support, and getting the music in front of DJs, listeners, and electronic music communities.

Fundraising & Payment Processing — Approximately $1,000

A portion of the campaign goal is reserved for fundraising and payment-processing costs associated with collecting contributions.

Our goal is therefore $6,333.99, so that after the direct costs and applicable campaign/payment expenses, we can actually complete the project at the level we’re aiming for.

If fundraising costs come in below the amount budgeted, remaining funds will be directed toward additional promotion, marketing, or project expenses.

For our final goal of $22,222.99 will cover these costs plus pre-production on Trance Utopia Sessions, Vol. 4 if this project is successful and picks up where our first two volumes started in the Top 100 Trance Charts.

Why This Project Matters

Independent electronic music is still being created by people who believe in the music enough to invest their own time, money, and energy into it.

That’s what we’re doing here.

There is no major-label budget behind this project.

There is no venture-capital-funded music company financing it.

There isn’t a giant corporate machine paying for the studio time, mixing, mastering, artwork, and promotion.

It’s independent artists, producers, engineers, musicians, designers, and music fans working together.

And this project is being created under our 100% Human Made philosophy.

No AI-generated music.

Just human producers, musicians, engineers, and artists creating electronic music.

Trance Utopia Sessions, Vol. 3 isn’t simply another digital compilation.

It’s the third chapter of a series that brings together different sides of electronic dance music—from melodic trance and progressive sounds to harder techno and acid influences.

The album will contain 15 tracks, followed by an exclusive extended DJ mix created specifically for supporters.

We’re taking extra time with this release because I want the final product to be something I’m genuinely proud to put my name on.

The goal is to give independent music the same attention to production quality that listeners expect from much larger operations.
