Hello, my name is Inbar Danziger, and I am an Israeli national swimming champion, national record holder, and proud member of the University of Michigan swimming team.
At the 2025 World Championships, I finished 23rd in the world and swam a time in the 200 backstroke that would have qualified for the Olympic semi final in Paris. This result gave me the confidence that I belong among the world’s best, and fueled my dream of reaching the finals, and even more, at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. My goal is to make Israel proud on the biggest stage in the world.
As a student athlete at Michigan, I face significant financial challenges. My scholarship does not fully cover tuition, rent, or living expenses. Balancing these worries with the demands of training at a world class level is extremely difficult. To continue improving and competing internationally, I need support to focus fully on swimming, without the constant stress of financial uncertainty. After completing my freshman year, I realized that what I miss most in the U.S is the feeling of family. The warmth of the Israelis is something rare that can't be found anywhere in world, and being far from home makes me value it even more. Here in the U.S, I’ve discovered that the Jewish and Israeli communities are the closest thing to that sense of family, warm and nice people to talk to, shared traditions and history, and the place that I feel more like myself. Knowing that I have people to celebrate holidays with, talk to or lean on gives me powers both in and out of the pool. This kind of support is super important to me and will affect directly on my journey to LA28.
