Support Imani's Journey to Break the Stigma

Hi fam!

My name is Imani and I’m raising money to be a part of a special 9-month fellows program for ministry leaders to build foundational counseling & pastoral care skills through Redeemer Counseling in NYC.

Mental health is something near and dear to my heart and it’s an honor to be accepted into this program!

I am currently working part time as an associate pastor, but am always getting opportunities to pastor and counsel people in all the areas of my life. I believe this class will be extremely beneficial… not only for myself but for the wonderful people I serve in my church and community.

There’s such a bad stigma when it comes to counseling AND churches AND counseling IN churches I’m hoping that after participating in this program… I can be used by Jesus help break that stigma, help folks to feel safe in church, bring the Church TO people, and help individuals go deeper in finding freedom and healing in many areas of their lives.

Additionally… as a Christian Black woman, I think it’s doubly important to have resources to support my community and other communities of color within their mental and spiritual health. It’s hard to find someone that looks like me to go to for help and support who just *gets it*. If I can’t find that person— I want to *be* that person. I am in such a unique position to be used by the Lord to further His kingdom in so many avenues! This program is a perfect fit for me and my journey as I step more into my calling.

The fellows program itself costs a total of $3,500. ($500 is the initial deposit and the remaining $3,000 is for the program). All funds raised will go directly to cover the costs of the program.
