Hello, my name is Imani Amira Miles also know as @AmiraTheWeirdo online. I was featured in the CNN documentary called “The Hidden Homeless with Anderson Cooper,” and I am currently homeless and alone in New York City.
I do have a job currently, and I try to save as much money as I can, but I currently sleep in a city shelter that doesn't allow me to cook, provide hygiene products/undergarments , or help me with transportation. My stuff is mostly kept in a storage I can’t always afford. My food stamps don’t last as long as I would like because I can’t cook in the shelter etc., and while this is still better than most of my counterparts and friends living in the shelter with me, I would still like to maintain financial stability as much as humanly possible and help others like myself using my platform and donations in any way that I can! And I also would like to support my dreams of being able to go to collage for Music Production and Linguistics after finally being able to graduate from high school in July of 2025!
Where will the money go?
- Help pay for my suitcase storage every month until I’m able to move into an apartment.
- Ensure that I have enough money put in savings for a better living situation.
- Give me better access to food and help me pay for travel to get to the food and to work.
- Help me pay for feminine hygiene products and things such as soap, hair care etc.
- Medical Bills: I am unable to eat on the left side of my mouth however this is NOT my main concern. Dental work requires a ton of money that I don’t expect to gain here but hopefully with some of the money they’ll be able to clean them and asses what is wrong so at least I know. I haven’t even attempted to go for a check up because of the money aspect.
