Spende geschützt
I come to you today with a heart heavy with the weight of memories – memories of a time when laughter filled our home, and the future brimmed with promise and possibility. My name is Imadeddin Almadhoun, and I am not only a father desperate to secure a future of safety and peace for my family but also an educator who has dedicated over a decade to shaping young minds and nurturing the seeds of knowledge and hope.
Before the relentless storm of war engulfed our lives, my family and I knew a happiness that words cannot adequately capture. Our home, nestled in the tranquil north of Gaza, was not just a shelter but a sanctuary where love and laughter echoed through the halls. As an English language teacher, I endeavored to instill in my children – Mohammad, a spirited 13-year-old, Menna, a bright 15-year-old, and Nisreen, a sweet 11-year-old – a love for learning and a belief in the boundless possibilities of the future.
Their childhood was a tapestry woven with moments of joy and wonder – from family outings to picnics by the sea, to evenings spent gathered around the dinner table, sharing stories and dreams. Each day was a new adventure, filled with laughter, exploration, and the simple joys of togetherness. But amidst the innocence of youth, there lurked the shadows of uncertainty – the ever-present reminder of the conflict that loomed on the horizon.
As the head of the training team for the digitization of education in Gaza, under the ICT4E program with UNRWA, I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of technology in overcoming barriers to learning and providing children with access to quality education. My children were beneficiaries of this initiative, and I watched with pride as they embraced the opportunities it offered, eager to learn, grow, and make a difference in the world.
But all too soon, our idyllic existence was shattered by the deafening roar of bombs and the suffocating embrace of fear. Our home, once a haven of safety and security, became a battleground, and we were forced to flee for our lives, leaving behind everything we held dear. Now, we find ourselves displaced and destitute, seeking refuge in the streets of Rafah, near the Egyptian borders, our dreams reduced to ashes by the flames of war.
Yet, even in the midst of despair, there remains a glimmer of hope – the hope for a fresh start, a chance to rebuild our lives far from the horrors of war. The funds we raise through this campaign will serve as our lifeline, enabling us to escape the cycle of violence and create a new beginning for our family. Your support is not just a gift of financial assistance but a beacon of hope that reminds us that even in the darkest of times, humanity and compassion prevail.
Your generosity can make that dream a reality. The funds we raise will go towards the fees required to secure passage out of Gaza through Egypt. Additionally, we will use the remaining funds to secure temporary accommodation and basic necessities as we work to rebuild our lives in a safer environment.
Please, if you can find it in your heart to donate, no amount is too small. Your kindness and compassion will not only save our family but will also restore our hope for a better future. Together, we can make a difference and give Mohammad, Menna, and Nisreen the chance to grow up in a world free from the horrors of war.
With profound gratitude and prayers for a brighter tomorrow,
Imadeddin Almadhoun and Family
