Support Ilyana’s road to recovery
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Ilyana Myles. I’m a 23-year-old full-time student and worker.
I live with one roommate and two cats. I pay for my own rent, groceries, and tuition. I was set to graduate in 3 months and have come a long way practically on my own.
Though, I haven’t been able to do much at all as of late besides take medication and try to sleep.
On August 13th, I was walking home from class when I was hit by a speeding car. I was near my home walking through a school zone where the speed limit is slow, and the driver came out of nowhere. At the speed they were going, I had a 50 percent chance of surviving the impact. Now I am left with a broken collarbone and pelvis for which I had to have surgery, several fractured vertebrae, fractured scapula, a concussion, and a subdural hemorrhage.
I am forced to be out of work and school for several months while in recovery. It will be hard to keep up with all of my bills and needs.
I don’t have any family to stay with or assist me with daily tasks.
I am facing this independently, which has been horrifying and challenged me on a mental and physical level beyond description; but I know I can persevere.
Anything you can spare to enable me to overcome this helps.
Donations will be put towards towards rent, groceries, medical bills, and medical equipment.
Thank you for your consideration.
update (09/10): wow thank you all so much! We’ve reached 1,000. That’s about one month of rent and groceries.
