We are the Illinois Trumpet Ensemble and through a competitive selection process, were chosen to perform and compete in the National Trumpet Competition as well as the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition hosted at the International Trumpet Guild Conference.
The National Trumpet Competition is an annual music competition for college students in the US spanning both classical and jazz music for soloists and ensembles. The International Trumpet Guild is a multi-national organization of trumpet players, and its annual conference features world-class performances and seminars. These events are very prestigious but travel and attendance is expensive. Your donations will go towards our plane tickets, hotels, food, and any other travel-related expenses.
Both of these events will greatly impact our future careers. We will meet big names in the trumpet world, make great connections with other future musicians, and receive elite-level feedback. These are more than just competitions; they are stepping stones to our future.
Our ensemble consists of:
- Joe Runkel, a Master's student in Trumpet Performance
- Adrian Birge, a PhD student in Materials Science and Engineering
- Nathanael Boston, an undergrad in Trumpet Performance
- Noah Weisbard, an undergrad in Trumpet Performance
- Simon Heck, an undergrad in Trumpet Performance
- Grayden Fields, a DMA student in Trumpet Performance.
