Hello,

My name is Motasem, a Palestinian from Gaza currently living in Montreal. I am writing on behalf of my younger brother, Ihab.

Since the beginning of the war, my family has endured unimaginable tragedies:

• Our home was bombed and my parents became homeless.

• We lost several family members, including the husbands and children of my sisters and cousins, in direct and random bombings.

• My sister Shafiqa’s husband, a paramedic, was killed in duty, leaving behind six children.

Most recently, on August 19, 2025, my brother Ihab was critically injured while trying to get food amid the blockade and famine in Gaza.

He is now in the ICU at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, suffering from:

• Severe bleeding requiring 7+ blood transfusions and major surgery.

• Partial removal of his right lung due to shrapnel.

• A spinal cord injury causing paralysis from the waist down, loss of sensation in his legs, and loss of bowel control.

• Multiple rib fractures and shrapnel in his lung.

• A shrapnel injury in the 10th vertebra of his spine.

• Severe injury to his right hand.

Despite everything, we still have hope to save his life.

What I am seeking:

• I have hired a lawyer in Canada to file a humanitarian TRP application to transfer Ihab to Canada with my mother as his caregiver.

• I need support from organizations, such as migrant support groups, willing to guarantee or assist him.

• I am looking for a Canadian hospital willing to provide medical care for him.

• I kindly ask for contributions toward legal fees to help with the process.

Any moral or financial support — or even just sharing this message — could be a step toward saving my brother’s life.
