One week ago, life changed forever for my cousin Igor, a kind and strong 35-year-old, when he was involved in a serious motorcycle accident in Karpylivka, Ukraine. The crash left him with multiple severe spinal injuries, including:

• Fracture of the fifth cervical vertebra

• Complicated spinal gravida

• Fracture of the spinous process of C4 and the left arch of C5 vertebra

• Severe spinal cord trauma

• Tetraparesis (Frankel C classification)

Though we are incredibly grateful that Igor was not paralyzed, he is currently bed-bound and unable to move. His diagnosis is critical, and the road to recovery will be long and difficult.

Just today, Igor was transferred to a rehabilitation center in the city of Rivne, where he has begun an intense treatment program. This rehabilitation is his only chance to regain mobility and, hopefully, walk again one day. Doctors estimate that he will need at least one full year of rehabilitation and the cost of this care is overwhelming.

Rehabilitation of this level is not only physically demanding but also extremely expensive. Igor cannot do this alone, he needs our support. Igor's family is going through a lot of financial strain since Igor's father was diagnosed with heart failure just a few months ago. We are reaching out to family, friends, and kind strangers to help us cover the costs of his long-term treatment, rehabilitation, and medical needs.
