Ayudemos a nuestro amado tío Ignacio De Sousa

El pasado viernes, nuestro querido tío, el Profesor Ignacio De Sousa, sufrió un accidente cerebrovascular (ACV) isquémico que cambió nuestras vidas de forma repentina.

Desde entonces, permanece hospitalizado en estado delicado. Actualmente no puede hablar ni deglutir alimentos o líquidos, y los médicos han indicado la necesidad de una gastrostomía para asegurar su alimentación mientras continúa su tratamiento y recuperación. Además, sigue siendo evaluado por especialistas para determinar el alcance de las secuelas que dejó el ACV.

Ignacio es mucho más que un profesor. Es una persona profundamente humana, generosa y compasiva, que ha dedicado gran parte de su vida a ayudar a otros. Siempre estuvo dispuesto a brindar apoyo, orientación y una mano amiga a quien lo necesitara, sin esperar nada a cambio.

Durante estos difíciles días, hemos contado con el cariño y apoyo de familiares, amigos, exalumnos y personas cercanas. Sin embargo, los gastos médicos y hospitalarios han sido tan elevados que la cobertura de su seguro se agotó rápidamente, y los costos continúan aumentando cada día.

Let's help our beloved uncle Ignacio De Sousa

Last Friday, our beloved uncle, Professor Ignacio De Sousa, suffered an ischemic stroke that changed our lives in an instant.

Since then, he has remained hospitalized in critical condition under close medical supervision. He is currently unable to speak or swallow food and liquids, and his doctors have recommended a gastrostomy tube to ensure he receives proper nutrition while continuing his treatment and recovery. He is also undergoing further evaluations to determine the full extent of the effects caused by the stroke.

Ignacio is much more than a professor. He is a compassionate, warm-hearted, and generous person who has dedicated much of his life to helping others. Whether as a teacher, mentor, friend, or family member, he has always been willing to offer guidance, support, and kindness without expecting anything in return.

Over these difficult days, we have been deeply grateful for the love and support we have received from family, friends, former students, and members of the community. Unfortunately, the medical and hospitalization expenses have been overwhelming, and the coverage provided by his insurance has already been exhausted. Meanwhile, the costs of his care continue to grow every day.

For this reason, we are reaching out with humility and hope to ask for your support. The funds raised through this campaign will help cover hospital expenses, medical procedures, medications, specialized testing, and the ongoing care Ignacio will need throughout his recovery.
