My name is Igor Teplitsky, and I’m the proud owner of Iggy’s Place, a neighborhood sandwich shop in the Outer Richmond neighborhood that’s more than just a restaurant—it’s a place where friends meet, families gather, and the love of food brings people together.

But we need your help to keep Iggy’s Place thriving.

Why We’re Asking for Your Support

We’ve poured our hearts (and life savings) into Iggy’s Place. Since opening in Fall 2023, we’ve:

✔️ Created 10 local jobs

✔️ Served thousands of happy neighbors

✔️ Built a warm, welcoming space in the community

✔️ Since opening we sold 2,249 Matzo Ball Soups , 13,787 Sandwiches , 1,856 orders of Latkes and 2,249 cups of Coffee

But like many small businesses, we’ve faced unexpected challenges. We’ve invested over $200,000 into our restaurant, but hidden issues in our space—like outdated electrical systems—have added costly, unforeseen repairs.

To weather the upcoming rainy season and to grow sustainably, we’re reaching out to our community for support.

Who is Iggy? Our Story ️

Hi, I’m Igor Teplitsky, the proud owner of Iggy’s Place, a neighborhood sandwich shop in Outer Richmond where great food brings people together.

From Chicago to San Francisco: A Love for Sandwiches

I grew up in Chicago, where I developed a deep passion for sandwiches. My first experience working in a kitchen came at just 15 years old, when my uncle owned a diner in Fulton Meat Market, a bustling hub for meat packing and processing for the city of Chicago.

When my uncle sold the diner a year later, I didn’t leave the restaurant world—I dove deeper. I worked my way up through the industry and eventually attended culinary school, specializing in French and Italian cuisine.

But after nearly 20 years in the business, I burned out and stepped away. Yet, my dream of owning my own restaurant never faded.

The Birth of BorschMobile

When I moved to the Bay Area, I found a community of like-minded food lovers who encouraged me to return to my passion. That’s when I launched BorschMobile, a food truck serving Eastern European flavors, in 2017.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, while the truck was on hiatus, we continued serving the community through the Great Plates program and Off the Grid, providing meals to those in need.

From Food Truck to Brick-and-Mortar

As a long-time Outer Richmond resident, I wanted to plant deeper roots in the community. In the summer of 2023, we found the perfect spot to open a pop-up location—a place to blend my Eastern European heritage with my love of sandwiches.

That dream became Iggy’s Place.

Since opening in fall 2023, we’ve worked tirelessly to create a warm, welcoming space where neighbors can enjoy great food, connect, and unwind.

With the love and support of this incredible community, we’ve:

✔️ Grown beyond expectations in just one year

✔️ Expanded our team to 10 amazing employees

✔️ Built a local favorite spot where people feel at home

But we’re not stopping here—we’re ready to take Iggy’s Place to the next level by adding dinner service.
