Quick & exciting update!! You did it!! We had an ambitious goal of raising over $4,000 for Idris and a family member to make it to Eugene Oregon for the Nike Nationals. This was suggested to the family after a tremendous showing at the Iowa State Meet where he jumped an impressive 6'9". Although we knew it was a tall task, the community really supported his journey! Although we did not meet the final goal, we were able to transition to the New Balance Nationals @ UPENN, which ended up costing closer to $2,000. The competition is just as fierce as the Nike Nationals! There will be 60 jumpers attending the New Balance meet that have CLEARED 6'6" or better. In comparison, Nike's qualifying standard was only 6'4" and currently has 43 jumpers.

We are happy to announce that the trip has been booked and shortly they will be on their way to the University of Pennsylvania to compete at the New Balance Nationals this weekend!! Idris and his family are TRULY grateful for your support! If he clears 6'10.25", he will be invited to USA Track and Field Under 20 in July to compete against high school and college students as a 16 year old! Sunday is a VERY big day so let's continue to support this kid and watch him do something special!!
