Support Ibrahim's Fund for Essentials in Gaza

Note from the organizer: My name is Kari Connolly and I am based in the United States. I am creating this campaign on behalf of Ibrahim, who is a friend of the family. All funds will be used for basic necessities (food, water, medical needs and shelter) and sent to Ibrahim via direct transfer.

My name is Ibrahim M. A. Sokar, born on July 23, 1990. I am writing to ask for your support during the hardest time my family and I have ever faced.

Before the war, I lived a quiet and hopeful life in Gaza with my parents, my older brother, his wife and children. I was studying, working, and dreaming about a better future. Now, all of that has collapsed — quite literally.

We have lost our homes. We now live in tents. My nephew was severely injured. Three of my brothers-in-law were killed, along with several of their children. I lost many dear friends in the bombings, and I had to bury some of them with my own hands.

Despite suffering from Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), a serious autoimmune disease, I continue to work tirelessly with the Palestine Red Crescent Society, in the Central Emergency Operations Room, responding to emergencies and the daily suffering of our people. I have been working 24/7 since the beginning of the war, while also trying to care for my family’s survival.

There is no medical capacity available to monitor or treat my condition, and the stress, exhaustion, and lack of medication make my health even more vulnerable.

In addition to the destruction, the economic situation is unbearable. Markets are almost empty, humanitarian aid is extremely limited, and prices for basic items — if available at all — have become impossibly high. Even under normal conditions, life was difficult. Today, it is simply unlivable. This is why I am reaching out for financial solidarity — to be able to afford food, water, and essential supplies to keep my family alive.

We are now surviving in extremely harsh conditions, without consistent access to food, clean water, medical care, or shelter.

Our daily reality is Now : children waiting for water under the sun, others sitting under the rubble of what used to be homes.
