Support Ibis Laurel's Conducting Dream at TTU

Hola,

I’m Ibis Laurel. I’m a Conductor from Chiapas, Mexico.

After my lifelong dream of becoming an orchestra conductor, and after thorough preparation, I was recently admitted to Texas Tech University to study Orchestra Conducting under the tutelage of Maestro Lanfranco Marcelletti Jr.

The offer came with a Graduate Assistantship offer which fortunately covers most of the tuition but not Health Insurance. Thus, I’m still short as I have had expenses for moving to Texas and even though I’ve been working through the summer, it is not enough to cover the remainder of the tuition and health insurance ($1200+800), which is my main concern. For housing I have already figure it out :)

I thought it would be a good idea to reach out for support, which is why I am doing this fundraiser, and hopefully I will be able to feel it from the community.

P.S. I have also started a small business making salsa macha (Mexican chili oil) to offset some of the costs of moving, and I am sure it will help even if just a little. If you are able to provide a reasonable amount, I’ll be sure to get you one of my salsa macha as a token of my appreciation ;)
