Hey everybody, my name is Ian and I've never done one of these before, but it was suggested to me by someone on Nextdoor. Anyway, I'm a student at a local community college and was having a hard time making it to class by walking/taking the bus, so all my friends and family pitched in to get me a car to get to school. It was registered non-op, so I would have to pay the registration, which was about $200. I was saving the money (yes, times are that hard trying to rebuild my life after being homeless) and in the meantime, I was keeping it in my landlady's driveway where I rent a room.
Anyway, she told me to move it to the street as she didn't want it in her driveway anymore after 4 days. So, I moved it that night and the next morning it was gone; someone had called CHP and had it towed. I cannot pay the impound fees and tow prices and really had counted on that car to get a job and continue taking classes. Now I'm at risk of dropping out of school and it's been almost impossible to find a work-from-home job for someone who doesn't yet have a college degree. I don't really know how this app works, but any assistance would be appreciated. The fees on the car are over $1000 now. I'm not sure if it would be cheaper to just get a new one on FB marketplace or get it out of tow. The only evidence I have of the tow is one screenshot of my landlady's Ring camera she gave me.
