Your friendly neighborhood bar manager and mezcal lover, Ian, has worked at Techo for nearly a decade. Right now, he needs your help. Three weeks ago, he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called myxoid liposarcoma. Now he’s preparing for surgery to remove the cancerous tumor on October 23rd.
Over the past month, he has been unable to work due to constant pain, doctor appointments, and a series of tests. Being away from Techo and all of his guests has been incredibly hard, both emotionally and physically, since his diagnosis. Not being able to do what he loves or see the people who make Techo special has been one of the toughest parts of this journey. The costs of surgery, ongoing medical care, and daily living expenses, such as rent and bills, have quickly become overwhelming.
We miss his knowledge but also his good nature and love for anyone who ventures up those legendary wooden steps. We’re asking for support to help cover the costs of surgery, medical bills, and basic living expenses while he recovers. If Ian has ever made your experience amazing, consider dropping him a few bucks if you can, so he can focus on healing and hopefully return to the place and people he cares about most.
Salud Familia
