Support Ian Stewart's Son's Future
Donation protected
The world has lost a bright light. It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Ian Stewart, my sweet younger brother. Ian died just a few days after his 35th birthday. The details of his passing are still being revealed to us, but we know that his loss comes following a long struggle with addiction.
For the past two years, Ian held a job at the YMCA in Oakland, CA. To say it was a job doesn't quite do justice to his position there. From everything we have heard, Ian was a beacon at the Y, illuminating every visit with his warmth, smile, and positivity. He was a beloved member of the Y community, and his community has encouraged us to set up this fundraiser in his memory.
While Ian leaves behind four siblings (Travis, Rachel, Leah, and myself) two parents (Donna and Michael) and his step-mom (Mini, who he lovingly referred to as his "soft-mom"), he also leaves behind a son.
We are setting up this fundraiser to provide support for his son. Ian's son is fourteen-years-old, and we have opted to not provide a photo or name to protect the boy's privacy while he is still a minor. The funds raised here will be dedicated to Ian's son's educational pursuits, whatever they may be following high school. Whether his son pursues community college, trade school, a university, or otherwise, we want to ensure that he has financial support to begin that path.
We would greatly appreciate any and all support toward Ian's son's future.
And, of course, please hold Ian's memory close. He has touched many lives, and he will be sorely missed.
