Support Ian Inkx Herman after the Eaton Fire
Donación protegida
Our dear friend, Ian Inkx Herman, and his family lost everything when their Altadena home burned down in the Eaton fire on January 8th. When they fled the fire with only the clothes on their backs, not only did they lose their home and everything inside, but Inkx lost a lifetime and career’s worth of musical gear, instruments, and audio equipment that he needs to make a living. With everything so uncertain for him and his family at this time, we are turning to his community to help him and his family get back on their feet as quickly as possible.
Anyone who knows Inkx knows that he can rock pots and pans, or a garbage can, or a coffee table, or a beer bottle if he doesn’t have a drum kit handy. But now, in addition to needing to replace everything in their home, he is in the position of having to replace instruments and gear that he has collected over decades of his incredible career of performing, recording, and engineering all over the world.
The need after this fire is unfathomably huge. Ian has asked us to say - for people who have their own needs at this time, please focus on those and don’t donate unless you are comfortably able to do so. But so many people have asked how they can help, and this is the best and most important thing we can do for him at this time. By supporting Ian to replace what was lost and start to rebuild what he needs for his life and career, we will be helping him right now, and for years down the road.
With the help of some friends, Inkx is hoping to put together a musical gift for everyone who has reached out and supported. So please stay tuned for more information about that down the road.
Our talented friend has kept us dancing for so many years. Hopefully, we can all do a little to keep the music going now.
*This fundraiser is being organized by Vir McCoy (Hamsa Lila, The Dogon Lights), Beryl Brett Jacobson (Hamsa Lila), and Erin Wallace (Ernest Ranglin's U.S. band) - former bandmates of Inkx's from different projects. All money raised will go directly to Inkx so that he can replace what he lost in this devastating fire.
