Our son, Ian Chapman is currently in the ICU following an unfortunate accident Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Ian has suffered multiple injuries to the brain and spine. Multiple fractures to his skull , spinal injuries, broken ribs, bruised spleen and Pneumothorax.
Ian is currently is in the Intensive Care Unit in Hot Springs, Arkansas. We are actively working on solutions to move him to Parkland medical center in Dallas. The goal is to get Ian home so he can be supported by his family and friends while receiving care at one of the most renowned trauma centers in the United States.
Due to the traumatic brain injuries Ian has suffered it is extremely challenging for him to communicate and comprehend and for those who know Ian well he’s not happy that he has to stay in bed and can’t do what he wants. Those challenges and Ian‘s current situation are not ideal as he began his road to recovery.
As of Friday January 30th the doctor informed us Ian was stable and should have a full recovery. The family was relieved and went for a quick lunch to celebrate the news that we had heard from the doctor. Shortly after that conversation we received a call notifying us that Ian’s vitals began to drop rapidly and they were forced to intubate Ian.
We are willing to do whatever it takes to ensure Ian is well taken care of and has the best possible care. Unfortunately medical expenses add up quickly with ICU hospital care, medical air transportation, etc. We would greatly appreciate you helping contribute with whatever you are able to donate, and if you are not able to help financially and you still want to support Ian please consider sharing this and sending him your thoughts and prayers. Anything helps.
We appreciate you and thank you for loving and supporting our Ian. We will try to update this post as things progress and we get more information.
Love,
Liz, Craig, Caitlyn, and Edward
