On December 3rd, 2025, 123 members of IAM Local W12 at the Roseburg Forest Products Mill in Weed, CA, were suddenly and permanently laid off. This devastating news came without warning, right at the start of the holiday season, leaving families in our community facing immediate uncertainty and hardship. While the union has worked hard to secure some support through the WARN Act, longevity pay, and relocation assistance, the reality is that these families are now struggling to cover basic needs and provide a sense of normalcy for their children during what should be a joyful time of year.
IAM Local W12 is stepping up to help. We are raising funds to provide gift cards for groceries, urgent supplies, and toys for the children of our affected members. Every dollar raised will go directly to these families, helping them put food on the table, keep up with essential expenses, and bring a little holiday cheer to their homes. Your support will make a real difference, offering hope and relief when it is needed most.
Our Union has stood together for over 135 years, through good times and bad. And in the down times, it is where we have shone brightest. This is one of those times where we can support and have the backs of our Brothers and Sisters who have suddenly and unexpectedly lost their jobs. Please consider giving to these families in this holiday season, who have had the rug pulled out from under them. Let's make this dark time a little brighter, and help make this holiday season a bright spot and the start of a new beginning.
