Hello! My name is Hyejin (Jini) Song, and I am from South Korea. Three years ago, I embarked on a transformative journey to the U.S. to fulfill my dream of helping others improve their mental health and performance. I humbly seek your support during this pivotal time in my life.
⭐️ My background and dream
As you might notice from my profile photo, I am a big fan of basketball. More than just a hobby, basketball represents my dream. My first international trip to the U.S. in 2017 to watch a Spurs game inspired me to dream of working in the NBA. My next question was, 'How can I help players?' I became fascinated by the mental aspects that influence performance, such as confidence, motivation, and concentration. I also recognized that many athletes struggle with their mental health. Thus, my goal became clear: I want to become a mental coach to help athletes enhance their well-being and grow both professionally and personally. With this dream in mind, I moved to the U.S. in 2021 to pursue a master’s degree in sport psychology. Over the past three years, I have gained valuable experiences in a country where 80% of the population participates in sports. I feel fortunate to have worked with a diverse group of students and athletes, ranging from 11-year-olds to college athletes.
⚡️ Visa & financial challenges
I have been consistently seeking ways to continue my work in mental coaching in the U.S. In February 2025, I discovered the EB1A visa, which is designed for individuals with extraordinary abilities. I have completed most of the preparation and am ready to apply by March 21st. However, the application fee is a significant burden, and I am humbly asking for your assistance.
If you have read this far, thank you so much for your time. I would be immensely grateful for any support you can provide in my journey.
Sincerely,
Jini
