My name is Emma Mendoza, and I am from the United States. My friend Hassan from Gaza reached out to ask that I organize this fundraiser on behalf of his friends who have lost their family. Donations will be sent to Hassan to distribute to Hussein, Ahmed, and Mohammed as they are too young to possess a financial account. Your contribution will go towards their water, food, transportation, shelter, clothing, medicine, and other emergency supplies and services they will need.

My friend Hussein (18) and his brothers Ahmed (12) and Mohammed (10). Hussein and his brothers are Palestinian orphans from Gaza who have now been displaced to the north due to the war. Ali’s life has been turned upside down by the conflict, as he faces enormous challenges in navigating an unfamiliar life while caring for his siblings. In our conversations, he shared that he and his siblings would avoid seeking shelter in areas suitable for human habitation to avoid being bombed. While this is not a reality that any child or individual should face, this is Hussein’s reality at a time in his life when he should be experiencing simple joys. With limited resources, the cost of daily necessities such as food, water and Ali’s education has become impossible for Hussein. By supporting and contributing to his fund, you can ensure that Hussein and his siblings have access to meals and water, and that Hussein is able to continue studying to transform their future – a testament to Hussein’s courage, strength and determination to continue his education in the face of pain, grief, destruction and violence. Hussein’s TikTok videos don’t get much engagement and he doesn’t have an English-speaking lawyer to help him, so I’m helping Hussein share his story, amplify his voice, and get donations for him. No child should have to carry such a heavy burden alone and together, we can show Hussein that he doesn’t have to.
